Adidas’ new sneakers are biodegradable

A product that won’t contribute to plastic pollution

Many brands of sneakers are in the race of creating futuristic and high technology products. And now they’re also taking into account the impact and ecological footprints that we’re leaving behind in our environment.

That’s why Adidas has launched these biodegradable sneakers, a prototype of Future Biofabric created with Biosteel.

The new material is extra strong, fermented with bacteria and using renewable sources to save energy and combustible. The most important feature of these sneakers is that they’re biodegradable.

Thanks to this enzyme, you ca be sure the used snickers can be dissolved in water after 36 hours.

The main benefit of Biosteel’s fiber is that allows to switch from fossil combustibles to renewable raw material, stated James Carnes, VP of Adidas’ creation strategy.

This means that any product they create from this material won’t contribute to the plastic and micro plastic contamination that is threating the oceans.
