#ArtsMakers Artist of the Mallika!

Namaste! I’m Mallika Dhingra freelance graphic designer available worldwide. I spend my day sitting on my laptop, creating and helping individuals and businesses.

A.C-How did you become an illustrator/Artist?

It all started 3 years back when I was making doodle paintings on paper, and then there was no turning back. Learning from existing artists, seeing their work motivated me more.

A.C-How long have you been an illustrator/Artist?

I started my Instagram account in 2017, uploading my doodle drawings.

A.C-Do you think an illustrator/Artist needs a style? Why? Do you have tips on developing an style?

Yes, I feel it is imperative to have your own style, as people will remember you for that only. Also we should always try to find out stuff which is trending.

Could you describe your creative process?

I like to find creativity wherever I go, click pictures so that I can remember them and create something out of it. As an artist we obviously have to learn about new software. So I try to ensure that I am updated with latest techniques/skills.

A.C-What would you say is your strongest skill?

I can consider being aware of what is trending nowadays, and what people would like use or wear is my strongest skill, as I spend lot of time researching for this.

A.C- Who are the people who have influenced your aesthetics and your approach to design?

All the artists around the world inspire me. I love to see new work.

A.C-Which is your favorite piece of art from your own designs? Why?

I designed a musical pattern, and that is my favorite since I love music. And while I work music is always on *(Perks of being a freelancer)

A.C-What are you passionate about besides your work?

In the above answer I said ” I sit all day long” so being a potato I like to take care of my health. Doing exercise for sometime and eating right is what I am passionate about now days.

A.C-What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Recently got a jewelry designing project, which was very special to me. But would definitely want to achieve many more things 🙂

A.C- What advice would you give to up-and-coming illustrators?

Just be yourself and don’t give-up. When I had uploaded my designs for the first time it took me almost 3 months to get my first customer! Keep trying hard and make new designs everyday.

A.C-Could you describe a typical day?

Exercise – Eat – Work – Repeat
